Senate advances DMV voter registration bill

"Under the Secure Modern Accurate Registration Technology (SMART) Act, SB 7, a New Hampshire citizen of voting age who applies for a new driver’s license, to update their license or for a non-driver identification card could allow his or her information to be transferred to the Secretary of State’s office. The Secretary of State’s office would then mail a postcard to the applicant on which he or she can select a party affiliation or decline to register."
